Cards for Heros Blog Hop starts on Sat 3:00 est!

In Feb I decided I needed to do something to give back. With the Michigan economy all you hear of is doom and gloom. I have full time job, so the hours had to be on the weekend or week nights. I was having a hard time finding something to fit my schedule. That is when I saw on Jennifer McGuire's blog information about Cards for Hero's! I sent my first box of over 200 cards. I am getting ready to send my send box next week. See below some of the cards that will be in the box!
I am hoping with my little card creations here on Altadena Avenue that I can bring a smile to the face of both the service men and women and the person who is receiving the card. Nothing beats a hand written note to the loved ones back home.
Welcome to the blog hop if you popped on to my blog without starting with number one go to:http://cardsforheroes.org/storage/boarddocs/blogdeeplinks.htm

This little fellow is made with dog stamp (silvercrow creations) he actually does have a flag in the mouth, I just thought it added more impact to put a real flag in his mouth. Background letters (Martha Stewart), star and days of the week (Purple Onion).

Butterfly stamp (Basic Grey), pattern paper (Basic Grey) and flourishes (Hero Arts)

These are quick cards (once I typed the stars and stripes into my computer)! Stars on the right are little tooth picks from Pier One. Stars on left are foam from Michael's.

When I was making my other cards I heard a TV interview done with this little boy who father is deployed in Iraq. He was saying that his father has never seen him play a little league baseball game. They give up some much to serve this great country! I thought these were good little cards for our service men or women to send to their little super stars back home. All stamps Purple Onion.
Thanks a ton for taking time to visit my blog and taking part in the Cards for Hero's blog hop! The next person is Dana, according to what I saw on her blog she is doing this to honor her friend who husband is serving! What I sweet friend! Her blog is: http://danasscraptherapy.blogspot.com/2009/05/cards-for-heroes-blog-hop-prizes.html
